The United States has some of the most beautiful scenery found anywhere in the world. One of the best ways to see America is by staying at a campground, and there are several choice locations that make touring the “Lower 48” a breeze.

Campgrounds are close to activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. Visitors who camp here can take advantage of scenic waterfalls, majestic mountain ranges, and abundant wildlife. Reservations are recommended for those who are visiting in the summer months, as space tends to fill up quickly.

Located in the eastern United States, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park covers parts of Tennessee and North Carolina. Backcountry camping is one of the primary attractions, with numerous primitive sites available. These sites require day hikes in order to get to their remote locations. Front Country camping is also available, with sites that are more accessible and located near water supplies and flush toilets. Special sites are also available for large group outings and people with horses. Some of the sites require reservations, while others are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

Brown County State Park

This park is located near Nashville, Indiana, which is in the Midwestern United States. It offers tent, cabin and RV sites, many of which also have water and electricity. Pit toilets are located in some of the tent camping areas, but cabins have flushable toilets and hot showers. A horse camp area is also located in the park, as there are a number of riding trails found here. Some of the activities that can be enjoyed here include hiking, nature watching, fishing, and an indoor water park. Leashed pets are welcome, and reservations are recommended for most sites.

Different parts of the country are best visited at different times of the year. No matter when you decide to visit one of these campgrounds, you will find them to be an enjoyable way to spend your holiday.
