When you travel to Sydney, there are many great things to see and great places to stay. This article will introduce you to my favorite places to visit or stay for the best accommodation in Sydney.

Sydney Opera House and the Harbor

Sydney is the oldest city in Australia. The Sydney Opera House, once hated by the citizens of Sydney, is now a worldwide icon for Sydney and New South Wales. The design won out over 200 alternative designs and took 15 years to complete. It was controversial from start to finish. The original architect never saw the complex completed. The Sydney Opera House is located at the entry to Sydney Harbor. If there is no musical program during your visit, try the Bennelong Restaurant located at the Opera House.

Four Seasons Hotel

Make sure you visit the Sydney Opera House complex but for the best views of the Opera House complex, spend the night at the fabulous Four Seasons Hotel. The hotel upper floors have the best Opera house views in one-direction and Sydney Harbor Bridge views in the other direction. The Four Seasons is well located to visit Sydney’s favorite tourist attractions. The Four Seasons is a favorite of celebrities who travel to Sydney from all over the world.

Simpsons of Potts Point Boutique Bed and Breakfast.

One of the highest rated accommodations in Sydney is Simpsons of Potts Point Bed and Breakfast. Along with the Four Seasons Hotel, more people who travel to Sydney stay at these two places than any place when arriving as tourists. Simpsons is one of the best kept travel secrets of Sydney and is located within easy walking distance of Darlinghurst, Rushcutters Bay and the Sydney central business district.

Quay Grand Suites Sydney

Another great travel to Sydney accommodation is the Quay Grand Suites. Located in the Circular Quay district, this is the best place to stay when you need suite style accommodations. The hotel location has some history as it is near the spot two Japanese mini-subs were sunk during World War Two.

Sydney’s Top Attractions

In addition to the Sydney Opera House, make sure you visit the Sydney Harbor Bridge. There is a Bridge Climbing tour you can take to the top of the bridge structure, or you can cross the bridge on a special pedestrian walkway, from one end to the other. You should also take time to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens located on the shores of the harbor.
